It's great they managed to get Jon Belushi from 1941

15.06.2025 00:35 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It's a great book, told with a lot of love (except for a certain ex-Python).
05.06.2025 10:44 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This is awful. Horribly reminiscent of PledgeMusic taking millions of money, and artists like Neil Innes losing out. I'd hoped nothing like that would happen again.

10.02.2025 10:18 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It’s Sunday, it’s 4am, and I have a million things to do. So why the bloody hell am I reading about baked beans on The Guardian website?

27.01.2025 12:49 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Richard Curtis said at the time he thought they'd be getting a lot of criticism for their depiction of WWI so wrote the poppies ending to bring it back. But in the end the criticism they anticipated didn't really happen and so the ending hit even harder than they thought it would.
27.01.2025 12:46 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It’s a brilliant head. Love that show, although the clues are bobbins
26.01.2025 12:01 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Running a theatre can be hard work and never-ending, but I’m so lucky to be involved in so many great shows and meet great comedians. Finally got one half of the Delightful Sausage here tonight and she was brilliant. Must get the other half sometime.

15.01.2025 22:33 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Sad to learn of the death of Tony Slattery, who I adored on TV in the 90s with his mischievous asides and cheek. We were lucky to have him at Chorley Theatre the other year and there was a lot of love and warmth in the room for him.

14.01.2025 15:11 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Second live show of the year was the Wicked tour show at Manchester Palace. It was fantastic!
07.01.2025 23:57 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0According to The Guardian the other day writers are deliberately leaving things on cliffhangers as leverage to stop a show getting cancelled. Doesn’t work though!

21.11.2024 22:14 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0For so many reasons, a joy and a delight to have Matt Forde perform with us tonight. Great bloke, very funny... and I'm home by 10. He's doing the Royal Albert Hall tomorrow, but it won't be a patch on Chorley Theatre...

Depends how long I'm there for, but:
1) High-Viz Jacket
2) Skateboard
3) Big bag of Wotsits
Hello! I’ve just finished one of your books

Just driven past a house with a huge chalkboard outside saying LES FORGE.
At first I thought the owners had, weirdly, given their home a fancy French name until I realised it should have read LEST WE FORGET but some letters have come off in the rain.
Another great evening watching They Might Be Giants, this time at the 02 Ritz Manchester. 2 hours on stage and every one a banger.
13.11.2024 01:38 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Enjoyable afternoon watching Paddington 3. It's the weakest so far, but a weak Paddington is still much better than most stuff coming out. Plenty of laughs, and great to see Olivia Colman doing comedy again.

Went out for lunch and the restaurant had "Chorley Chips" so I asked what that was and got told "It's Poutine with a Chorley twist" as if that helps.
It turned out to be chips in gravy.
(and very nice)
Another late arrival at the ball. Hello everyone!
