Families and businesses fear more tax hikes after the Tories' stealth tax and this Government’s unfair jobs tax. The Chancellor must rule out extending these stealth taxes. We need a real growth plan and the big banks, tech giants and gambling firms must be made to pay their fair share.

The Government's decision to abolish Healthwatch is hugely concerning and risks patients' voices being lost. I and many @libdems.org.uk colleagues have written to the Government to urge it to reverse the decision, and guarantee funding for independent patient advocacy services.

Others raped, sexually assaulted and mutilated. 251 people taken hostage, ripped away from their families. “Those terror attacks also triggered a shocking rise in antisemitism here in the UK – a terrible scourge that took the lives of Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz at their synagogue last week. “We stand in solidarity with British Jews, the people of Israel and Jewish communities around the world against terrorism and against antisemitism in all its forms. “This cycle of violence has gone on for far too long, caused far too much suffering and claimed far too many innocent lives. “With new peace talks under way, we desperately hope that they will finally see the hostages returned home to their families, a lasting bilateral ceasefire, Hamas out of power in Gaza for good." The world generated almost a third more solar power in the 1st half of the year compared with the same period in 2024 meeting 83% of the global increase in electricity demand. Wind power grew by just over 7% allowing renewables to displace fossil fuels.

Last week, I had a lovely morning at Beech Hill in Haywards Heath, meeting residents Mark and Catherine, and dedicated staff like Agnieska and Anna.
Care workers are unsung heroes deserving more recognition and pay. I will keep fighting for better governmental support for them.
Horrified and appalled by the attack outside Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
My thoughts are with the victims, our brave emergency services and the entire Jewish community.
