Our county shelter is frequently so full that if people find stray dogs, they are told either to hang onto them or set them loose again. It’s insane

In the next county over, a 61-year-old postal worker was mauled to death in 2022 by a pack of 5 dogs. The owner had recently tried to surrender them but was rebuffed — bc the no kill county shelter didn’t want to take in dogs it would likely have to euthanize.

But like… the uncritical substitution of laptops for actual learning resources is why Gen Z and Gen Alpha are cooked. We fucking failed them by being uncritical of computer!!!

When I rant about this in class invariably some dude is like “I seem to recall the same arguments against computers/the Internet” 😏

The crazymaking thing about AI being pushed all throughout my grad school is that even when professors make the caveat that you have to double check the answer AI gives you — we are literally in school to do the intellectual work of getting to the point where we can doublecheck the AI answer!!!!
