js interop is bad by design in the newer versions to avoid runtime errors
tooling isn't customizable; the author of the inofficial book to it made his own lang: Roc; A lot of uncertainty on what the designer is going to do with his lang so he can keep control over it

ditched elm bc of some issues:
debuggability: the time traveling debugger was unique but redux-tools offers this too while having js-interop
documentation: Reimplementing the site in it while weaving through source code as docs to the classes are often non-existent?
