"Artists peak at 30", "30 under 30", "by 30 you should" ridiculous. Arts industries capital craves young people to exploit and burn out. It doesn't want older artists thriving and guiding the young. It also doesn't want artists to exist. Stop letting cannibals tell you you only matter on a plate.

"Once Upon A Time... Life" was this educational French cartoon all about the workings of the human body, and was part of a bigger franchise that mostly dealt with varipus eras of history. Incredibly charming.

I'm told that the blade itself incites to deeds of violence

Seriously how good would it have been if Howard had just stuck to spooky swashbuckling adventures for Kane, like the one set in the Black Forest in Germany. But noooo

Goat Fell in winter, from Saturday. Last part of the climb was over snow 1-2 feet deep. Tanked it with no equipment and scrambling over the snow and rocks bare-handed (don't try this at home).

Also I got stuck on the island overnight and lucked into accommodation at the last minute πŸ™ƒ

you can really blow some minds with β€œactually there was an entire library and research institute for queer / trans history, science and medicine founded by a Jewish sexologist but the Nazis destroyed it in the hopes of exactly this outcome, ie future generations not believing trans people are real”

Catching a 6.00 am train and 7.00 am ferry tomorrow because I decided freezing my balls off on a mountain is better than sitting at home feeling glum about what day it is.

Always retweeting these two pages of Wolves of St. August because I believe that Mignola, along with Kiyoshi Kurosawa, are the two artists who have most profoundly understood ghosts.

Thinking about John Hurt and Michael Graham Cox voicing Aragorn and Boromir in Ralph Bakshi's LOTR (1978) AND Hazel and Bigwig in Watership Down (also 1978). Mirrored and echoing dynamics, with very different paths taken.
