I think the worst part about it is that the limited viable options shoe-horn you into similar choices across many classes. For the wealth of content 2e has, that problem is one of my biggest problems with it, and I think the emphasis is on viable, as opposed to optimal

Parry is just one of the many kind of sad and undercooked traits imo. The biggest parry 2h weapon is a d8 with deadly, which almost defeats the point of taking a two hander to begin with

It's funny but a whole ass feat for that is kinda sad. Can always grab shield with a spell heart if your party is smart enough to keep you clued in whether or not you're gonna provoke a reactive strike with it. Kinda lame it has no follow up feats too
