The only good non-Korean performances I’ve seen are in the Disney+ kdrama The Tempest. They cast legit actors, not just some freelancers from Instagram or TikTok.

Day 2: Fav actress discovered in 2025

Hands down, Kim You Jung. Her performance in #DearX is truly something for the ages. She’s absolutely amazing in it and probably gives one of the most nuanced and realistic portrayals of a sociopath in TV/movie history.

Seriously. This Danish actor always plays some random American or British businessman in kdramas but forgets to lose his Danish accent!

I’m half ready to cancel Viki. It’s not what it used to be. I’m especially upset at how they removed the ability to leave Disqus comments on each show’s reviews page (underneath the reviews section). That, paired with all the shows leaving the app and subpar streaming quality…I’m fed up!

Yeah this isn’t it either unfortunately. Back in late August Viki announced they were scrapping comments.

Yeah I’m starting to think it may be worth moving on to kocowa now. Viki is losing its subscription value.

No, I’m talking about the comments section that used to be underneath the reviews section for each show. On a show’s review page if you scrolled to the bottom there was a threaded comments section where you could interact with other members. That’s gone now.

What in the heck is going on with #Viki? They took away the comments section for every show and movie. Now members have no way to communicate amongst each other about updates to release schedules, thoughts or questions about episodes, etc. I loved this feature of Viki and now it’s gone. 😢 #kdrama

Like the one that’s on now named The Dream Life of Mr. Kim. But the literal Korean title is: The Story of Manager Kim, Who Owns His Home and Works for a Large Company in Seoul

Oh yeah, the English title is just Stranger. We need to get to the bottom of the kdrama naming business because there are literally dramas I wouldn’t have watched if I’d just gone off of the English name! That’s why I always look at a show’s Korean title as well to know what, if anything, changed.

Yeah, no the kdrama title changes from their original Korean title to the English ones goes way beyond what you’ve described. My favorite example is the kdrama Something in the Rain (its English/international title). But the literal, Korean title for the show is Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food.

LOL yeah, like how the kdrama Something in the Rain’s actual Korean title is Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food. Why they went with naming it Something in the Rain for the international market is a question that I’ve had for years now haha

Same here. I also don’t like FLs who lack a sense of self or backbone. A FL can be complex, quiet, maybe even somewhat meek. But she can still have an inner/quiet sense of confidence and also be vulnerable and prone to self doubt. Like the FLs in j-dramas Learning to Love or Marry My Husband.
