Chart of LEGO starships built to-scale with the LEGO Enterprise-D set.

Updated 1:1055 (LEGO Ent-D set scale) chart! Already filling out a good bit, probably gonna take a little break to get through some commissions but I'm excited to keep on it! :)

What should I build next?

I'm in the middle of watching Deep Space Nine for the first time and just came across what has to be one of the greatest lines in tv history.

USS Enterprise-D 6-foot filming, built for STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION as it appeared in STAR TREK GENERATIONS.

Visual Effects Art Director Bill George described the refurbishments the miniature received for its appearance on the big screen: "There are some things I've always wanted to do to that Enterprise, but Rick Berman just wanted us to give it a facelift. I wanted to change the paint job, because we didn't have a lot of time to paint it when we built the model back in 1987, and the green and blue color scheme didn't read on television. Rick agreed, since the six-foot model was pretty beat up. We stripped off all the paint and decals and Bondoed all the dents and scrapes where the motion-control camera had run into it. We took the color more toward a battleship grey, and also, per John Knoll, added some glossy areas because he liked the tiled look of the original Enterprise. When there's raking light across it, you can see that paneled look and it's really beautiful."

Thread: The only physical model in the Borg battle seen at the beginning of Star Trek: First Contact, is this Nebula class seen here firing torpedoes next to the Enterprise. This sequence is also the last time the physical model appeared on screen. (1/2)

Do any old school FASA fans know anything more about this particular Romulan design? It seems to have been an early take on what would become a much more angular Winged Defender. I really like the flowing lines of this version, especially in the illustration.

I noticed that one of the FASA artists (L) has taken perhaps a little TOO much "inspiration" from some Peter Elson cover art (R) that came out the year before.
