Yesterday I could have sat down to write. In fact, I did so. My intention was to start on the first chapter of a story that’s been spinning in my head for the better part of two weeks and that I took plenty of notes for. Instead I edited 3 chapters of an old story. Why do I like to torture myself?

Living with a black cat is basically cohabiting with a small piece of sentient antimatter who occasionally eats treats and then disappears onto any dark surface like a glitch in the simulation.

Made a new friend this morning. I walked by the canal and swan swam beside me. Such beautiful creatures.

Lady Coffee is not a lap cat. She is more of a box cat. However, I have found a loophole. She’s very amenable to chill in her box while it’s in my lap. Win/win. Follow for more tips on how I play my cat. 😜😂

Asked my cat if we could throw one of her cardboard boxes away (she has two). She hasn’t used it in a while, so I figured it was fair game. The second I took out the blanket I’d put inside, she jumped into the box and looked at me as if to say “don’t even think about it”. So yeah, the box stays.

I forgot how peaceful the city can be in the morning…

Well, that was true until I crossed paths with someone calling to end all animal lab testing and another person yelling at them incomprehensibly.

How do people have the energy to be this loud and this wake before 9am?!

Me: *makes my cat’s napping spot slightly more comfortable*

My cat: *moves to another napping spot*

Why do I bother? 🤦🏼

Werewolves get one proper Halloween every couple of decades. The last full moon fell on 31 Oct 2020; the next won’t rise till 2039. The rest of the time it’s goths, ghouls, and one melodramatic lycanthrope growling at a merely aesthetic moon. 🌕🐺🎃

The great thing about being half way done with crocheting a blanket for your friends is that you get to use it as a blanket while you work.

Must think this way so I don’t start crying about being only half way done.

Body aches for no reason

You know what’s beyond creepy? Looking up from your phone to stare into the pitch-dark of your apartment’s hallway only to suddenly see a pink tongue emerge from the shadows?
What’s even creepier is that I shouldn’t find this creepy because I live with a void! 😬🙄

I just boiled water, poured it into a cup and then sat down on the sofa only for I realise that I forgot the key ingredient: coffee!

That “hang on” moment while listening to an audiobook when you realise you have no idea what the characters are bickering about and have to restart the chapter because you have no idea which ten seconds you missed where… 🫨🫨🫨

For a moment there, I was very proud of myself for finally dealing with a heap of clean laundry. Then, just as I put the last clothing item away, I remembered that there is a load of bed sheets in the dryer that’ll need folding tomorrow.

Looks shifty, probably responsible for the Louvre heist…

I had the audacity to move my cat’s bed (one of many) onto the nightstand (it was previously on the floor). In protest Coffee is now curled in a circle inside in her cushioned cardboard box. #cats

Watching the world. Silently judging.

I actually did a bit of writing last night. Initially was happy with the chapter, now I’ve decided it’s missing a crucial scene.

My cat kicked me out of bed so she could snooze under the duvet. In protest, I left the house to have brunch at my local coffee joint.

My cat is presently sitting on top of a dish towel on the counter next to the sink and I cannot figure out what she wants to tell me. She had dinner and has access to kibble and fresh water. The dishes are mostly done. This cat is weird. Truly. Simultaneously, she’s also the absolute cutest void.
