Exactly. And if someone makes a mistake it is not their decision on how the offended party takes it. If I cuss you out for misgendering me by mistake, apologize and move on. You made a mistake, you know, as much as I don’t think mistakes should be treated with hostility, it is still valid.

As a person engaged to someone with extreme ADHD, not all repetition of mistakes are intending to harm, however it is still our responsibility to put in the work to correct them. Self flagellation isn’t the way. Honest apologies and explaining yourself is the key

This is a very nuanced take here. Bear with me. Reactions to trauma are diverse. Not everyone will or should take an inadvertent slight against them with grace. But only bad actors will condemn a group of people because of the actions of one, even when the behavior is justified. Let us make mistakes
