Just hanging around trying to make sense of it all. Occasionally post, views all my own. Glad that Jürgen was a red and that I am too.

Just to point out that Sara Cox has raised £5million for BBC Children In Need WITHOUT having any of her total matched (yet?) by that rich millionaire who matched part of both Vernon and Paddy's totals previously 💪💪💪🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Essex scientists are developing a new bowel cancer blood test to improve early detection and save lives.

Funding from @bowelcanceruk.bsky.social enables Dr Vladimir Teif, Dr Ralf Zwacka and their team to explore this ground-breaking approach.

Liverpool's last 3 games:

Beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0
Beat Newcastle United 2-0
Beat Manchester City 2-0

Three state-owned sportwashing enterprises defeated. This makes me happy. It should make all football fans happy #LFC #YNWA

Pet Peeve

Keeping
a chameleon
for a pet

is something
that I now
regret.

At first,
as far as
I could tell,

he seemed
to blend in
very well,

but he’s
changed a lot
in many ways

I’ve not
seen him now
for fourteen days.

Brian Bilston

Here’s a poem called ‘Pet Peeve’.

It’s like saying ‘In the U.K. we only allow horses that can fly’ and then complaining that Apple have decided to withdraw their horses rather than attach wings to them.

Can we stop pretending Apple’s refusing to ‘add backdoors’ as though backdoors that let the good guys in and keep the bad guys out was something real?

Absolutely gutted at the news Rick Buckler has gone - 69 is far too young. From my teens to this day, the band who shaped me. RIP fella.

I know, it just feeds into the irritating drama narrative. I'll pour another drink and then I won't care 🤣🤣

16.02.2025 17:20 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

It's just the narrative which this feeds into which irritates.

16.02.2025 17:18 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

It's just irritating as it adds to the drama narrative "OOOOOHHH Liverpool had no shots on target, weren't they TERRIBLE!" as if we weren't trying for the first part of the second half.

Which doesn't make sense - if it was saved, it would be counted.

A long time ago he was one of the better ones, but it seems that as Anthony Taylor has improved, he's got worse. He falls for every trick in the book. Even the newer ones seem to have gone downhill quickly.

This - I never thought I'd be wishing for Anthony Taylor but here we are. Oliver is bloody awful.

The excitement amongst scientists at tonight’s Cancer Research UK dinner was REAL. One said to me that they believed that within their lifetime we genuinely cld see vaccines for different types of cancers

Amazing research being funded by CRUK
