this is generally a consequence of underfunding of health in Aotearoa though, because there wouldn't be a 3 week backlog if we had enough staff in medical fields.... which we would have if the pay weren't dogshit here.

anyway i stand by my main complaint about this process which is that if the third party that needs to review medical certificates that aren't exactly the same as 2 years ago has a 3 week backlog you need at LEAST to warn people that this might happen so they can chase up before payments are missed

Anyway shout out to anyone who takes inbound communications y'all are the real backbone of beauracracy.

I worked in a different field but inbound staff were overqualified and overefficient compared to the rest of the customer related teams, and we were often responsible for reminding other teams of things that were urgent for customers but not important to sales etc.

Next person I speak to. Same deal last time I had an issue. There were chains of processing that had been held up, and as soon as I got call centre staff aware of it there was quick movement. I used to work in an inbound-calls and emails team and this doesn't surprise me at all

I will say this for MSD the call centre staff are remarkably efficient when they find an issue. The person I talked to today literally has gotten my pay sorted for this week, told me what to do to chase up next week to make sure this doesn't happen again, and made notes to make it easier for the

I got the same response when they found the application that got lost. Anyway all cleared up for now. It's been bottlenecked because my disabilities have changed slightly since 2 years ago so it needed to be checked by a third party before being fully approved 🙃

"Huh that is weird let me check with a manager and I'll be back in a couple of minutes" is always the best thing to hear when you have an issue with your payments because it means something has been fucked up somewhere in the process but it wasn't at your end 😆

Because I booked the appointment for that certificate in EARLY SEPTEMBER. Because there are 3-5 week wait times for GP appointments here. Did I need to get an appointment in August? For a certificate expiring at the end of October? COOKED.

Not only did they initially lose my supported living payment for a year, but expiring my existing payment when they HAVE my medical certificate and have acknowledged my medical certificate is absolutely cooked. If they need more than 3 weeks notice to process a med cert they needed to tell me that.

MSD is so cooked. I needed a new medical certificate this month, by the 25th so I got one on the 9th. they acknowledged it, and I thought "great that's sorted"
