The edges are hard; I love them. And I also love how the cells are differently sized. So, although the edges are hard, they are not straight nor consistently of one width. Hard and loose in dialogue. And the subtle colorful diagonal marks which pay no attention to the boundaries of the squares!

Some of the squares are filled with loosely applied transparent watercolor, others with Posca markers and others Noodlers Southwest Sunset ink. Many only have the pink background and nothing else. There simple line drawings of a triangle, a circle a squiggle and a half moon.

I love the organic mixing of colors, transition without edge-- but then also two straight-ish ("ish" because when you look close you see the imperfections) lines that scream their artifice and organize space. Thanks. I think I want to experiment using different tape. Also remembering to remove the tape pretty soon after I've done the painting part using full bodied paint.

What's your technique for making hard edge straight lines? (If you don't mind sharing). I brush the general line area with matte acrylic medium then put down art tape after medium has dried. Then heavy body acrylic paint. I've had mixed results. I like the looks of your triangles and straight lines.

I love your patel and acrylic on paper series. How big are they? Are they oil pastels?

I love working in a square format. I feel the balance the square shape provides as liberatory. I love the play of the black strokes which feel like living organisms on the white, textured background.
