When a team retains on a player …does that player then receive 2 separate paychecks from each organization or does the acquiring team pay the full amount and then the retaining team sends a check to cover their half afterwards?

I’m not fighting - I’m just expressing my feeling on it - not sticking up for the player either, I think he’s opened himself up for all the scrutiny coming his way, I just thought if you’re going to make that statement do it with the Captain of the leafs who was also the captain of team USA

Which is also easy for me to say because the Canucks suck and there is nobody on the team that I have to reconcile their play on the ice vs their character off it

Well that’s how I feel - it would have been more of a statement if it was a Matthews jersey, it’s easy for us here because Hughes is no longer on the team and I wonder what the reaction would be if that wasn’t the case - either way I find my self less invested in sports with all of this

I thought it was lame - I’m tired of seeing this insignificant shit and not the people at the top getting taken down…it’s deflating and demoralizing
