Notes from Ahoy IndieSky Europe A summary of the IndieSky Ahoy event, running a EuroStack, and joining the IndieSky working group for independent ATProto infrastructure.

The day after @ahoy.eu in Hamburg, Germany, we hosted a day of discussions about #IndieSky: running independent ATProto infrastructure.

The morning was a walk through and knowledge sharing about the composable protocol architecture, and the afternoon went through what a EuroStack would include.

I thought "#atmosphere is on fire" was a comment on @ahoy.eu 😬

Some of my takeaways from #ahoy25:

- a lot of people are building some cool shit with #atproto, both technically and organizationally
- there's a lot of optimism and feeling that this is going to be big
- this stuff we're doing here is *important*

A live rendering of the Graze Turbostream

The Bluesky Jetstream is great - and we just made it better. Introducing the Graze Turbostream, an enriched Jetstream that includes *all* stale referenced objects, and completely skips the need for redundant hydration API calls!

After today's session, I created a simplified atproto diagram just for me. Maybe it's useful to somebody. Feel free to comment if you spot errors. Getting the arrows right is the hardest part 😂

Laurens relentlessly pushed through the longer interviews.

So grateful I was invited at @ahoy.eu to talk about power concentrations in the ATmosphere! In my talk I tried to make clear there is no social media without conflict, but we need to build democratic institutions to balance between feudalism and social norm conflict exhaustion.
