Well I feel like a dumb dumb.

Several years ago, I wrote a book called MIDDLEGAME. I still think it's one of the best things I've ever written. It's about math and language and alchemy and sibling relationships and breaking things and fixing things and growing up.

A while ago, someone asked me what indie bookstores could do better. I love bookshops, but I had an easy answer: give more shelf-talkers to non-cishet-white-guy science fiction/fantasy authors. Many indies do a great job of celebrating all kinds of authors of mainstream fiction, but not so much SF.
