it seems like the real answer is to retroactively undo the tax cuts to claw the money back, or use the uk's surveillance state capabilities to find out who voted in the tories' elections and fine all of them with a one off fee for embezzlement. #taxcutsaretheft

to use the uk as a proxy, i find it odd the tories can steal so much money out to the rich as "tax cuts" it destabilised the economy, get kicked out over it, and then complain that labour is raising taxes to make up for the "black hole" shortfall that the tories' hid through fraudulent accounting.

every few years we get a choice between the bully who beats us up and steals our lunch money, and the teacher/principal who ignores it and throws you in detention if you ever defend yourself b/c they have a zero tolerance policy for violence; all the while preaching an anti-bullying message.
