Here’s a Tricolored #Heron posing in what might be called #PerfectLight, which accentuates the subtle coloration of the plumage and makes the brighter primary colors pop on its legs and bill. The focus gets a bit fuzzy, but you can also make out the red of the eye

The oil-on-canvas painting features gold leaf, silver, and platinum and is housed in the Belvedere Museum in Vienna.

Beautiful!

A tight, vibrant close-up of bright pink flowers fills the frame edge to edge. Each bloom has five rounded petals in a rich magenta-pink tone, softly textured with faint radial lines. At the centre of every flower is a glowing yellow star-shaped eye that fades into a warm golden throat, creating a striking contrast against the pink petals. The flowers overlap and cluster closely together, forming a dense carpet of colour. The lighting is even and natural, highlighting the velvety surface of the petals and the delicate pale edging along their rims. The shallow depth of field keeps the foreground blooms crisp while those further back soften slightly, adding depth and a lush, immersive feel to the image.

A little egret stands side-on in bright sunlight, its pure white plumage glowing against a dark blue water background. The bird’s long black bill points forward and its pale yellow eye is sharp and very alert. Fine, delicate feathers cascade down its back, and thin black legs are partly hidden among green grass at the water’s edge.

This is my watercolour of Wayland's Smithy, an ancient barrow in Oxfordshire. First constructed around 3950-3550 BC and later expanded, it has been linked in folklore with Norse god Wayland since at least AD 955.
