A macro photograph which is focusing on one blue-grey cup which is the fruiting body of a Chlorociboria Elfcup fungus, a smaller cup is forming in the foreground, slightly blurred. The main cup is tiny, less than 1cm in diameter and height that tapers down in to an almost perfect goblet shape. The upper, surface is smooth and just visible but the main focus is the underside of the cup that appears to be made up of fibres giving it a stripy felt like appearance. The surface of the wood it is growing on has the remains of sandy soil that has dried giving a buff background. Photo taken in South East UK

The living room at the cottage in Brockhampton…

The cottage at Brockhampton, Dorset where Hardy grew up. He walked to school through the nearby woods…you can still retrace his steps. His heart is buried in nearby Stinsford churchyard.

So many of these buildings/ruins which once provided warmth now out in the cold. They continue to add to the landscape. Wonderful, Neil.

Taken facing North East, a ruined stone built croft house dominates the foreground, it's roof has completely gone, one gable end with it's chimney still stands. Beyond, across Noss Sound the isle of Noss runs down to the cold grey sea.

Yesterday was bitterly cold. A walk through Archbishop's Park, Lambeth, London afforded an unusual view of the Houses of Parliament.
