Since I last posted here I got my gender updated with SSA (literally the day before they stopped), my wife & I escaped South Carolina and officially moved to Philadelphia, & I got a hearing date scheduled for my name change. Sharing some trans joy seems more important than ever these days!

Me: *ignores, plans to wait X days*
Work IT: We will start CCing your direct manager on these emails

My mom has always mostly understood why we felt like we needed to move out of South Carolina, but I think one of the things that finally clicked was when we told her Nancy Mace was considering running for governor. Have never seen my mom's face drop into a scowl like that in my life 🤣

One of our best friends is a very talented artist, who my wife & I met through work years ago. Last night she reminded us of an old selfie from a holiday party over 6 years ago and how it'd always been a personal favorite, so she decided to make this wonderful new version (original included for ref)

Today officially marks 6 months on HRT!
The picture on the left is from roughly 3 years ago when my "egg" finally started cracking for good. I wish so much that I could tell my old self just how much joy and life is right around the corner

People are responding to my wife's top energy whenever we're out together as a couple (handing her the check, directing all the questions to her, etc.) and it's both sexy af and also very gender affirming

I've been a lot more active on threads than here but I'm going to try and start using this just as much now that things might be headed south over there. I can't be as long winded on here but that's probably a good thing lol

Also less than 4 weeks until we move to Philadelphia! More than a little terrifying to be leaving all of our family, friends, and overall support system behind but very excited to leave South Carolina and to start making more trans and queer friends in Philly
