16.01.2026 03:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hi there :) We're just a scientific research station in Arctic Alaska, run by University of AK. We study things like how the tundra responds to environmental changes or properties of the aurora borealis. Nothing suspicious about us but verify for yourself by visiting our website. www.uaf.edu/toolik/

Great day @toolikfieldstation.bsky.social. Not only is the lake officially ice free but I got to get out via helicopter to a thermokarst lake to the south of Toolik to work on an eddy covariance tower.
Pretty good day all in all.

Today I spotted a small flock of ptarmigan browsing in the willows around the station and basking in the sunlight.
