Bush years, created said Department of Homeland Security amid the W administration’s era of terror, an administration which rode the wave of talk-radio and cable-TV partisan propaganda programs, and which was appointed through [SCOTUS] corruption rather than being elected by the people, and which was rife with jingoism and overcompensating and performative patriotism, and which exploited 9/11/2001 and also lied the US into war, and which destroyed constitutional rights and sought to quash dissent, and which proliferated unconstitutional prisons, torture, and surveillance, and which scapegoated as well as underserved numerous marginalized groups, and which exacerbated income disparity, and on and on. The term “Homeland” is emblematic of the problem and the Anti-Democratic Regressive Racepublican will to power. The phrase “Homeland” (which mimics the “Motherland” and “Fatherland” terms used often by authoritarian regimes across history) is absurd in a nation of families who have come to live in the land relatively recently in terms of human history, between the last several decades to the last several centuries, a nation with ever-changing demographics, and a nation that was built atop indigenous, first peoples.

REP FROM FREE PRESS: Innumerable supporters of yours have had guns at protests, some trying to kill congressmembers, your VP, and overthrow the legislative branch of the government. You pardoned all convicted in that coup, which killed cops.

At the very least, Congress must disarm ICE, prohibit it from using racial or ethnic profiling, end arrest quotas, remove agents’ immunity from criminal prosecution and civil lawsuits, and slash its funding. The Senate has the chance to rein in ICE this week.

And/or fill in the following blank with a name, “_____’s tariff-taxes,” every time, please. -- To those who vote on economic issues:“Since the end of the Cold War in 1989, America has created about 51 million new jobs. These things are not unrelated:

A subservient/vassal US president would, of course, follow Russian orders to have the United States threaten its neighbors and position itself to break apart NATO (thereby giving cover for Russia attacking Ukraine and elsewhere and for China potentially attacking Taiwan).
