Very glad you enjoyed. Chapter 3 is one of my personal favorites because it’s kinda where I’d figured out how I wanted to portray Dream. As I mentioned in the note, I relate more to Still, which made Dream more difficult to get into but after chapter 3, it got much easier.

She hasn't formally introduced so far in the chapters that are out but that is (hopefully) changing! So look forwards to that.

Ah yeah I forgot to mention this part since it just kinda slipped in terms of like. When writing her dialogue it’s just something that becomes second nature so I ended up forgetting to mention it

Oh wow, okay, I genuinely missed that while reading her campaign in that I always read her using it in kanji in the brackets. Interesting to learn.

Alternate universes as in aus, not alternate uni's

Oh yes, and final note: She calls alternate universes "anotherverse(s)"

And something that I actually forgot when I was starting to write my fic, the like all caps acronyms always have 'these' around them like her technical terms

But also not all the time. Emphasis basically.

Back on the bracket talk, sometimes it'll be one word, sometimes it'll be a whole phrase, but I, personally, see it as like. Any phrase or important word in the dialogue gets the brackets basically

Combine that with a general sense of floatiness, and dialogue that seems somewhat non-sequitur but clearly connects, and some stiltedness (alongside the acronyms), and well. That's Uni dialogue

As for general notes on how Uni talks, she'll often go use unusual kanji or like rarely used words to mean their simpler synonyms. So, in english, you'd want to translate it as her using a lot of big words

In terms of how I'd translate her two 'i's in specific, I'd take advantage of the fact Uni talks in third person to convey the "boku" 'I'. So, whenever you want her to say boku just have her say 『Neo Universe』in brackets to imply she's talkign about Neo Universe the horse

Similarly, she'll often use quotation apostrophes around specific 'technical terms' that are like, unusual and emphasized but not like. Bracket important if that makes sense?

You will notice in Uni's dialogue as well, she will often use the jp special brackets『』around certain key pieces of dialogue. Whenever she uses an 'i', she'll exclusively use it within these dialogue brackets.

Okay chiming in here as someone who can read jp since neouni's dialogue is very interesting. In regards to this in specific, Neouni actually has two 'i's she uses. 『ボク』and『私』. The former, boku, she uses to refer to the IRL horse's life and feelings, whereas the latter, watashi, is specifically her.

Contradictions, dissatisfaction, disregard for himself, and a longing she couldn't place. But after a slip of the tongue, she realized what it was.

And nothing could stop her other self from claiming it.
