But what people always omitted in the discussion was the study’s conclusion was helmets are more likely to cause life altering injury because in accidents with the same conditions non-helmet wearers would die. More likely to have a life altering injury becuase less likely to die!

When I was digging into the European attitude towards bike helmets I found this study trotted out again and again that stated that helmets increase your chance of live altering injury in the event of an accident, and it was true that’s what the research said…

So like when riding a bike down here helmets are compulsory and you'll get fined if you don't wear one...

Always been that way in my lifetime, when I got into commuter cycling for a while a few years ago it was so bizarre to learn how controversial this concept is overseas

Remember when there was this fleeting glorious moment where character customisation in multiplayer games started to get really deep and varied but then one day someone decided that you could sell skins and suddenly is all disappeared immediately

I would extend this to many if not all media outlets in western countries bar one or two independent orgs

The media has been systematically deconstructed for decades by the richest of society to ensure they remain in step with a world view that is beneficial to them and their wealth

It’s sad, it’s just reinforcing my deep trust issues and my internalised feelings that I cannot rely on others in my life

I never broach these topics with people because the handful of times I’ve expressed hurt it just gets thrown back at me that it’s hurtful to them that I’m hurt

I’m effectively tenured here and with the tech industry how it is and the looming quadrennial “once in a lifetime” recession I should just be happy I have stable work

I felt entirely the same way, the most recent patch I feel got it ‘close enough’ to be enjoyable at least but it’s not quite the same

It’s not helped by the fact the opening act in the lesser zone is so dry and clunky and that particular game zone being so sparsely populated with things to do
