Your criticism is fair, I've been enjoying that Gunn is weaving politics into his DC work even if now as CEO he's trying to hold back to not have it blow up in his face. The monkeys in Superman, the MRA soldiers in Creature Commandos, even GI Robot show he knows what he's doing even if he denies it.

It's kind of weird to not include Suicide Squad, in which a character lectures characters on America's interference in foreign countries. That's his most superhero political movie, and it's is telling that it's the one where he's not CEO and clearly tying his hands back a bit more.

Scan of a typed letter from 1970, from Peanuts creator Charles Schulz, addressed to "Joel Lipton, 622 N. Foothill Road, Beverly Hills, Calif. 90210"

It reads:

"Dear Joel:

I think it is more difficult these days to define what makes a good citizen than it has ever been before. Certainly all any of us can do is follow our own conscience and retain faith in our democracy. Sometimes it is the very people who cry out the loudest in favor of getting back to what they call "American Virtues" who lack this faith in our country.

I believe that our greatest strength lies always in the protection of our smallest minorities.

Sincerely yours,

Charles M. Schulz"

Written 55 years ago, Schulz's heartfelt clarity cuts through the noise, even today.

I know these sites are somehow important to politicians, reporters, and pundits, but i'm really glad that saying this is happening will not register with most people

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

cancelling Disney+ and Hulu is well and good but it’s not a huge hit on an individual level

but Disney adults? people who spend real money at the parks? you guys can make a dent, call β€˜em up and tell them your vacation is postponed until they pull their heads out of their asses

As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read.

They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.

They are going to happen, what's you should be more worried about is Schumer staying in charge of Senate Dems.

Are you annoyed at all by the relatively open Dem/Independent field? Obviously there's still a lot of time for people to actually announce, but what's the point of an open primary/RCV if we don't get more options and visions? Other than "fighting," ofc
