Since we sent the letter, 20 more unions signed on to the demands.
Gov. Kotek tried to destroy preschool for all on behalf of the rich and was defeated handily by parents, teachers, unions, and socialist electeds.
Now sheβs retreating by announcing some vague panel to study the issue.
The working class is strong when we fight together for what we deserve. πͺ

Over 50 unions and labor organizations have called on Wilson and District Attorney Vasquez to enforce the law against ICE and their landlord.
Wilsonβs suggestion that children, the elderly, & union members caused ICE to tear gas us is beyond the pale.
PPB swore in court ICE used excessive force.
Good showing. I went to Vasquezβs office with a delegation of union members who were tear gassed & he refused to come out and meet with us.
His staff (AFSCME members) were very lovely though & let us leave a detailed message about how we were assaulted and want ICE to face Justice for their crimes.
Weβ¦ would prefer that our membersβ bosses not be armed at the officeβ¦

βThe actions of ICE on Saturday are indefensible. The time for action from our elected leaders was months ago. A substantive response that reins in these thugs is well overdue, and enforcing existing laws & ordinances is the bare minimum the Mayor and DA Vasquez must be doing.β

βWhat we witnessed on Jan. 31 was not law enforcement β it was state violence against families, workers, and children exercising their constitutional rights. Mayor Wilson & District Attorney Vasquez must act with urgency to enforce our laws & protect Portlanders from further harm.β - CWA 7901

CWA 7901 Stands With Minnesota General Strikers! January 23, 2026 will be a day that will be remembered as the beginning of the end for the ICE regime grasping the throat of the nation's working class. A coalition of unions - including our sister local CWA 7250 - in collaboration with community groups, has called for a general strike of no working, no shopping, and no school.
CWA 7901 welcomes this as a necessary precondition for nationwide labor and community action against ICE terror. Our union siblings in Minnesota are leading the way for the entire labor movement, and our union pledges to support fully in every possible way. LOCAL 7901
CWA 7901 Co-signs the demands of the Ice Out Of Minnesota Day Of Truth & Freedom Coalition 1. ICE must leave Minnesota now. 2. The officer who killed Renee Good must be held legally accountable. 3. No additional federal funding for ICE in the upcoming Congressional budget and ICE should be investigated for human and Constitutional violations of Americans and our neighbors. 4. We call upon Minnesota and National Companies to become 4th Amendment businesses, cease economic relations with ICE and refuse ICE entry or using their property for staging grounds. LOCAL 7901
CWA 7901 has endorsed the January 31st Portland event: Labor Says ICE Out! We'll join our siblings in the Oregon labor movement to stand together against ICE terror. Oregon has seen terror recently with the shooting of two community members and we must act to prevent further bloodshed in our streets from unaccountable federal goons. COM LOCAL 7902
