I chose the autumn colours and the background of either sunrise or sunset for pretty much the same reason. Leaves must change and die for new life to grow from them, night must follow day so that the sun will shine again come dawn. Staying in the familiar may seem like the (1/2)

This is not without pain or sacrifice however, as you will note that the arms are both bleeding. It hurts to pull yourself away from what you know and confront your issues, just as I imagine it would hurt for an apple to grow arms (or attach them somehow?) and drag itself (2/3)

My apple has fallen from the tree and is not, visibly, poisoned. This is not to say I am not affected by my grandfather and my family, but rather represents how I work to keep myself in check. I don't want the rot to harm others, so I work to manage it. (1/3)

This is because my grandfather was a violent, cruel man who's memory still lingers and refuses to rot, despite the fact that he's been dead for nearly 24 years. People who never truly met the man are still hurt by his influence in ways we will never fully know. (2/2)

Further in line with this, the tree represents my grandmother and the rotting apple at its base represents my grandfather.

I have depicted my family as the loser red delicious apples and myself as the alpha chad pink lady apple. This doesn't mean anything deep, just that I think red delicious apples suck, along with my family
