in Texas, RGVDSA member Etienne Rosas (TX-34) goes down as expected, but puts up a surprisingly strong performance against Vicente Gonzalez (who outraised him ~40 to 1). Meanwhile, Andrew Hairston's campaign for Travis County Justice of the Peace P1 ends in a decisive loss for Austin DSA.

The first election night of the year sees DSA members go 2 wins, 2 losses; incumbent Marek Broderick (Burlington, VT City Council W8) retains his seat, and Triangle DSA member Natalie Bent Kitaif (Durham Board of Education D1) becomes the chapter's first member on that board.

The one and only @phara4assembly.bsky.social is looking for a new member of Congress to take on the oligarchy and the establishment, champion the labor movement, and fight the war machine.

I'm so proud to have her support.

DSA is on the cusp of 100,000 members in the wake of Trump’s return, Zohran’s win, a livestreamed genocide in Gaza, and ICE raids terrorizing communities across the country.

Only a mass, multiracial working class movement can stop the slide into fascism and win the world we deserve.

Claire Valdez for Congress Claire Valdez is an Assemblymember, union organizer and proud democratic socialist running for Congress to deliver for the working class.

I'm a union organizer, Assemblymember, and democratic socialist running for Congress in NY-07.

I came to politics through low-wage jobs and the labor movement. That’s the perspective I’ll bring to Washington to take on oligarchy, fascism, and warβ€”and win for working people.

My name is Christina Cover. I am a 28-year-old UFT public school teacher in the Bronx. I serve on my local community board and am a proud member of NYC-DSA and NY Working Families Party. I am strongly considering a run for New York State Assembly in District 84.
I have taught and served at multiple schools in the Bronx. I have seen the extraordinary resolve and brilliance of Bronx students and educators. Simultaneously, I experience the persistent struggles we face. Many students are reading below grade level, but this issue is not in isolation. Defunded programs in our communities have exacerbated violence, important literacy laws are not moving fast enough, and affordability, as we saw in the recent mayoral election, is an urgent concern for Bronx residents and all New Yorkers. As an Assembly Member, I will demand investment in public safety and take a proactive approach, champion laws that raise the bar for literacy in Bronx schools, and join the relentless fight for affordability. I will do this as a democratic socialist who will not accept a cent of corporate or real estate PAC money.
