Obamacare Enrollment by State: Most Enrollees Live in Republican Areas
Millions of Americans depend on Obamacare. Here's where they live.
More than 23 million Americans are currently enrolled in Obamacare plans, and nearly all of them will face higher health care costs next year if extra federal funding for subsidies expires, as scheduled, on Dec. 31.

Liz Weston: Wife of Alzheimerβs patient stymied by bank that wonβt let her close his accounts
Her husband has early onset Alzheimer's and makes reckless purchases.
If you think your loved one is having issues with cognition, jump on it early. It is much harder to fix financial issues once dementia really takes hold. Thanks Liz Weston for sharing my thoughts on this situation.

Prior authorizations for medical care are becoming insane. Insurers are using AI for first steps. Now the providers are using AI to fight back. So now AI vs AI is going to be who decides our healthcare?

Push for ranked-choice voting in your local races. It transforms the campaign dynamic!
It took NYC two cycles to get our head around it, but the dynamic between Lander and Mamdani created joy and collaboration rather than sniping and division.

Iβm fan girling sharing the main stage at Morningstar with Jean Chatzky and Christine Benz. Women face so many issues and advisors need to understand how to address these such as long term care, longevity risks, and income inequality.

Hundreds of weight loss and diabetes jab users report pancreas problems
UK health officials launch study into side-effects of weight loss drugs after increased reports of acute pancreatitis
I had a wise mentor when I was a newly minted doctor. He said "Never prescribe new drugs for at least the first 6 months. Let the other doctors kill their patients first."
All the weight loss drugs are life changing for many and they come with risks.

LOL in this conglomeration of confusion, obfuscation, malevolence, incompetence, self-interest, crime and the momentum of decades of overshoot of ecological limits of course you don't know the one right thing to do. It's a mess out there. Do something anyway.

Hereβs the salary Americans say they now need to earn to live comfortably
Nearly half of Americans said they would need to earn a six-figure income to feel financially secure, according to a new Bankrate report.
People are feeling much less confident about their financial future. So many reasons why! @cnbc.com @jessicadickler.bsky.social shares the lowdown. My take - how can someone feel secure with so much instability!

I've lost count on many free steak dinners we've been invited to.
Without mentioning names some of us are no doubt familiar with the slogan, "We only do well when our clients do well." But when advisors typically charge 1% of assets under management, they also do well when their clients do badly.

We are at the beginning of a long term care tsunami. My biggest worry is the lack of caregivers. Make sure you think about the logistics of care long before it is needed. Thanks @nytimes.com and Mark Miller for such great coverage of the need. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/24/b...

DOGE went looking for phone fraud at SSA β and found almost none
Since SSA installed new anti-fraud checks on claims made over the phone, only two claims out of over 110,000 were found to likely be fraudulent, according to internal documents obtained by Nextgov/FCW...
This is a HUGE scandal.
Elon Musk, JD Vance, and Trump are lying about Social Security fraud.
Internal documents show DOGE found "no significant fraud"βbut did slow retirement claim processing by 25%.
Nothing efficient about making it harder for people to get their benefits.
