WIP but I am reasonably happy with this chipping and its reveal of the decals…I may have failed but I think the trick is not to go too mad with the reveal bit…🙄🤷‍♂️

I don’t think we see enough WIP photos in scale modelling. Yeah they are often ugly but tbh I often prefer them to the finished article…this is where we try and work our craft out perhaps? ✊🥃

Interesting little kit perhaps…

Heheh…cheers. It’s a bit contrived perhaps but it’s something a little different at least!

Not entirely sure where this will end up but it‘s at least sort of worked…this is all a bit soggy so needs to dry out and then I’ll take another look at it…

I’ve only built one Gecko kit but I liked it…

A comment about my limited experience of FB & scale modelling groups. I don’t think I have the bandwidth, resilience, self belief or patience to cope with what I have seen on there. It is frightfully combative & critical…I don’t understand why folks behave the way they do about a hobby in FB groups.

I have a DioDump barn that has been waiting in the wings for several years…

I’m sorry ‘heavy’ literature fiends but there is no getting away from it…this is an entertaining & often hilarious read…there…I’ve said it…🤷‍♂️

I’m converting a lot of military trucks into civilian post war commercial ones & wondering about rusty barn finds. I still quite like CSM WWI armoured cars as they are so quirky. I have given kits to Models for Heroes & need to do so again…it‘s taken me the 5 years I’ve been back to realise all this

I am also more ‘sort of’ comfortable with the idea that I will have to just chuck some older builds in the bin to make room for newer ones. Space is an issue. I have got to the point of moving builds off shelves into plastic boxes bit ultimately I think the tip awaits them…

Sometimes a fanciful idea for a diorama, often the chance to play with colour and sometimes weathering. The more I build the more I like to not build what I see built elsewhere…this is particularly true for dioramas…I am more and more swerving the military option…🤷‍♂️

Completely with you on all of these…it’s just a scale I am not familiar with and a little fearful of but for sure there are some great kits in that scale that could be seriously messed with…

I lived in Cardiff from 1988-2000 doing my PhD and then working. I went to watch City homes games a bit initially & ended up with a season ticket at Ninian Park and going away far more often than I should have…driving to Darlington was particularly memorable…but I loved it 👍

I am all befuddled about what I may buy this year…these are in the running I think but I’m struggling a bit as I’m less sure than ever about what it is I want to build…I think mostly the answer seems to be ‘what everyone else isn’t building’…but I don’t think that’s anything new really…🤦‍♂️😊

Heheh…you are an Arsenal fan I think? Good year for you. My lot look like they might crawl out of League 1 this year…currently top by a whisker.

Yup…I like books rather than YouTube but they don’t come cheap I guess…hence I also try stuff out for myself quite a bit too…the ‘coerced’ comment is true but I don’t think I have succumbed as I always try and plough my own furrow…often to my own detriment but ho hum it’s fun…

A thought on a post by @dr-robonator.bsky.social asking about scale modelling based on current conflicts. I just couldn’t do it...it would feel like I was intruding on matters I don’t understand & potentially on the grief/fear/terror of those directly or indirectly involved…so it’s a no from me…🤷‍♂️
