Thank you all for making this group awesome! You are all awesome! It truly makes me tear up like a proud dad or big brother when I talk about what we are creating together.

I thought “LGBTQ Community Group” was the best fit since it is more relaxed, but still carries the idea that we are here to lift each other up.

BUT Oliver and I were talking that our group in its uniqueness, doesn’t fit the traditional “Support Group” mold, and for both practical, legal, and ethical reasons, we should change the name.

Since we started in November, this group has grown so much. I have watched people help each other in numerous ways inside and outside the group.

I love what we are creating here and want to continue this positive energy and mutual aid!

I had the idea for a monthly group meet up where people could meet and make friends and help each other out in real life. A tangible togetherness.

When the inauguration happened I was so anxious that I actually got into a small car accident that day.

I knew then that we needed each other more than ever.

Turns out we have all been here the whole time and thinking much the same thing, that we were alone. But we are not!

I have lived in this area for gosh, 13 years or so and I felt so alone being a queer trans man for most of that. When I started tattooing in Mason 5 years ago, all of a sudden queer people like myself were coming out of the woodwork and I thought to myself, ‘where have you all been?!’

When I had the idea to create this group, it was out of the need I saw for lgbtq togetherness in our own area.

We were thinking that our group doesn't fit the traditional “Support Group” mold. So for practical, legal, and ethical reasons, we are changing the name.

Today we made a fabric chain! Written on each ring is something we LOVE about being queer or something that gives us HOPE! The plan is to keep adding to the chain any time a new person joins, even if it's just for one meeting!
When we are pushed down, we stand up stronger and laugh louder!

A craft to connect us all where we can write what gives us hope and what we LOVE about being queer!
I will be providing all supplies, but if there is a scrap piece of cloth that you’d like to include, feel free to bring it in!
