I mean, there have been signs that budgets were getting too big even back in 6th gen, but yeah 7th gen id argue is where it became a real issue. There is a reason why from soft eventually only made souls games and atlus essentially escaped to handhelds for a long while

i hope a lot of the talent within the AAA space is freed from it to work on what they want, but the thought feels idealistic,, good games still come out, especially on the indie side, lets just hope that continues to be viable in the future

no for sure i dont think their remake stuff is good at all but uhhh they should have been able to keep their jobs! they had a lot of good technical talent on that team, i hope that someone recognizes that and gives them work
