2025 was my second year of oil painting every week. I’ve now done 106 weeks, approximately a painting a month.
It has taught me patience, plan my composition, values and colours. Digital it is too easy to move things around to find what you’re looking for. Oils need you to execute with conviction.

I painted this back in 2018. I don’t do much digital painting these days as AI changed how I felt about it. The effort seems worthless. However that's what led me to oil painting, the most real medium there is.

My first proper Plein air painting, it's a lot harder than I ever thought it would be but also very rewarding because of all the environmental challenges that are going on around you. Todays issue was not weather but a horde of bugs landing on the paint. @leecraigmile has been an awesome teacher!
