A Babson College student wanted to surprise her family for Thanksgiving. She was deported instead. - The Boston Globe Any Lucia Lopez Belloza was at Logan to catch a flight to Texas when immigration authorities detained her as she was about to board the plane.

I feel much safer today knowing that we deported a Babson College student back to a country where she hasn't lived since childhood.

She wasn't even flying internationally. She was flying to Texas.

The so-called β€œStrike Papyrus” written by Amunnakht
The scribe Amennakht is the author of this papyrus in the hieratic script. It is a report concerning a strike held during the reign of King Ramesses III in the village of Deir el-Medina. The workers protested because they had not received their regular food rations, which constituted payment for their work in the Valley of the kings.
β€œYear 29, secondo month of the Inundation, day 10. Today the work squadron passed the control post shouting β€œwe are hungry!” It is 18 days this month that (the men) go and sit at the back of the funerary temple of Tuthmosis III”. Despite various attempt at conciliation, the protest lasted a number of days. To the officials who tried to persuade them to return to work, the workers replied: β€œWe are here because of the famine and thirst. We are not accustomed to not having unguents, fish, and greens. Write to the pharaoh our perfect lord, take note of our words, and write to the vizier, our superior, because we are in need of our provisions”.

In Maine, voters yesterday were asked to vote on a set of election changes that would have made voting more difficult.

The question went down in flames, with 63% voting against it.

But importantly, it was unpopular even in _many_ places that Trump won last year.

Voters want to make voting easier!

Side note: Threats of military action notwithstanding, worth noting that any Christians fleeing religious persecution in Nigeria could not, at present, enter the U.S. as refugees, as the U.S. refugee program has been almost entirely frozen by Trump for months β€” save for Afrikaners from South Africa.
