The fact that there is such food insecurity in our community when there is absolutely no shortage of food is a moral stain on our community. And I think people should be a hell of a lot more upset about it than i'm reading about so far.

We can and should be doing better!

I witnessed families, elderly people, people with young children and others driving up and taking away food that had been collected by the local food pantry from private donations and some supermarkets in the area.

This is one small corner of suburban Clackamas County, and this is two days before SNAP benefits are scheduled to be ended as part of the GOPs draconian aid cuts passed this summer.

Are you okay with that? Because I sure as hell am not!

I don't think we should gloss over the fact that in my little upper middle class town in Oregon, over 100 families this Thursday afternoon came to the food pantry to receive food.

This is a classic example of Trump trying to roll his own reality and we can't allow him to do it. So stop giving it air, stop giving it credence, and call it for what it is, a complete nonstarter, irresponsible, ridiculous nahrishkeit, and move on from there and cover real news.

PBS News Hour's just spent 5 minutes of airtime today musing about Trump's contention that he could consider running for a third term in 2028.

It would make total sense that the city of Fullerton named the park in Grissom's memory as that was very close to the time that the #SunnyHills development had gone up adjacent to Parks Junior HS, where I went to Junior High a few years later.

May their memories be for a blessing.

But I just read Adam Higgenbotham's book on the #NASA Challenger disaster and the first chapter of the book details, the gruesome way in which Grissom and his two colleagues, Roger Chaffee and Ed White died on that January morning in 1967, in a failed test of the #Apollo 1 mission.

In 1972, my parents moved into Sunny Hills in #Fullerton, CA. A couple of blocks from the house was Virgil 'Gus' Grissom Park which I always viewed as a place where we would walk our dog and nothing much more than that.

Consider the doofus that drove by in an SUV (certainly not a Prius) at our NoKings demonstration outside my house, probably enabled by the rhetoric routinely used by our idiot president, and rolled down his window and yelled, "NO QUEENS!"

This is an adolescent temper tantrum to get eyes back on him after the hugely successful NoKings events yesterday. I've come to expect this (shit) from our toddler president, which maybe is a comment in and of itself on how low my expectations are of this idiot.

All this talk about a becrowned, Trump dumping shit on the protesters at a #NoKings protest from his perch in a fighter jet got me thinking. (I'm not going to link to it, deliberately.You can go find it yourself if you really want to see it. It's really is stupid.)

Despite your best efforts, you didn't drive down the turnout, and people showed up and stepped up. American Democracy won today!

Trump, et al, you lose! Every #NoKings march I saw was massive, overwhelmingly peaceful, and a forceful demonstration of how much disgust people hold towards you and your awful regime.

In my little slice of paradise here in Oregon, today. Great Turnout!
