OK, random question tonight: Back in the 80s (maybe early 90s), there was a Beckett Baseball Card Magazine columnist who wrote a column that I think usually appeared near the back of the magazine. He wore an Orioles jacket in his accompanying photo. Does anyone remember who he is? #CardSky

Happy 84th birthday to the late, great Dick Allen. Allen is finally a Hall of Famer, an honor that was long overdue. A 7-time AS and the 1972 AL MVP, he spent just one season with LA in 1971. That said, it was a rather productive season as he batted .295 with 23 HR and 90 RBI.

This was fun work. Here are the three things I learned that were most interesting to me.
1️⃣The same guy has two cards in the 1914 set.
2️⃣Of the 11 guys to change teams, only two got new art.
3️⃣Of the 139 guys not to change teams, one got new art anyhow.
