What is "default Google" and what is this link?

I tried that with Google Search for all five Claude AI passages and in not one instance did it return any other author. Oddly, the second-highest search result for the historical fiction passage is the Wookieepedia entry for Darth Sidious and the third-highest is Neil Gorsuch's confirmation hearing.

I love the passive-aggressive assertion that I may just be a lucky guesser.

With temperatures up to 13° C, cross-country skiing season is behind us. I did a trial hike on our local trail system to check conditions, but is tough going right now. There is 20-30 cm of packed snow, but it is soft in places, which means you break through periodically.

Wow, I saw this post earlier, but just in passing and I didn't realize who posted it...or who is standing there.

My first own test of AI was to ask Google Gemini to write a short biography of my own research. It included three papers as examples. They all sounded plausible, but all three were hallucinations. Which also seems pretty odd, because you would think an AI could at least replicate a Google search.

Related (or I've been really, really lucky): I have not had the common cold, flu, or other respiratory ailment since 2019, nor have I had COVID.

That is awesome, especially the patch. Star Trek also plays a big part in my life. I don't have that much in the way of clothing, but there are bits of Star Trek all over the house. My daughter also enjoys Star Trek, which is one of my favorite aspects of our relationship.

From 7th grade through 12th grade I attended an international school that had students from countries from all over the world, including Israel, Lebanon, Libya, and Egypt. We were all friends, regardless of what happened in the Middle East and North Africa. This remains a very inspiring memory.

For grins and giggles. me and two other Swedish students started the Swedish Student Society at Princeton in the mid-1980s and I was its president. When the king and queen of Sweden visited New Jersey in 1988, I was invited to a luncheon held in their honor and was seated at the queen's table.

I saw this earlier today, and totally believed it, because it seemed so consistent with Microsoft Office having gone to a subscription model and aggressively pushing Copilot in all its products. How long until AI crashes an airplane? A space station? Starts a war?

We got another 6-8 cm of snow last night, unfortunately followed by a thin layer of freezing rain. Looks beautiful, but a pain to shovel. Forecast is for 11° C today. Friday we're getting a mix of snow, rain, sleet, and freezing rain.

This is one of the things I love the most about cities in Sweden. There are walking and bike paths *everywhere* (these are all in Stockholm).
