Ha, my brain's gone.
Still a great photo :-)
Great shot Marc!
28.02.2026 18:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0GCHQ really needs to pay more than this to attract the best. To put this in perspective this is only slightly more than contract programmers earn at GCHQ.
28.02.2026 18:22 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I agree with you there, though I can see why the UK might want to defend against attacks on bases where its forces are stationed. Not a decision I'd like to mull over.
28.02.2026 16:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0THE STRAWMAN FALLACY Instead of addressing the real argument, a strawman misrepresents it to make it easier to attack. Example: Evolution explains the diversity of life. Oh, so you think we came from monkeys?! Don't let people swap your argument for a distorted caricature. Call it out-then return to your original point.
28.02.2026 16:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
Ad hominem attacks are a sure sign of losing the argument.
What's your issue with the UK trying to prevent more people from being killed?
What is your problem with the UK trying to stop people from being killed?

That's quite a stretch.
Here are the facts:
"Iran launched an immediate counterattack, including strikes on Israel and Jordan as well as on US bases in Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. British forces are located at the bases in small numbers."
Keir Starmer has said RAF fighter jets are flying βin the sky todayβ to defend allies in the Middle East against Iranian retaliation after the US and Israel launched a bombing campaign aimed at regime change in Tehran.
This isn't double speak.
What's your point?
28.02.2026 16:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What a ridiculous post. The US/Israel attack on a school is horrific. The UK launching jets to defend against Iranian retaliation strikes is trying to prevent a similar tragedy. Try thinking next time.
28.02.2026 16:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why is this double speak? If Iran launches counter attacks against UK assets do you want the UK to do nothing, or intercept, for example, Shahed drones that have already attacked US sites in Bahrain?
28.02.2026 16:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why is defending yourself joining an illegal war?
28.02.2026 15:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 5 π 0Why oh FFS? Presumably they are protecting UK people from Iranian missile attacks.

28.02.2026 14:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I hope he doesn't think he can walk in and take over. Iran needs a democracy.

UPDATE: The death toll has now reached 57.
Children.
My MP is great but he won't have a job next time around unless Labour has a total reset. I don't think the right of the party is doing it any favours at all. A crushing disappointment.

Rarebit for lunch. Originally a Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recipe I think.

I hope we also get a home secretary who isn't pandering to the far right as well. As a member I've had enough.

This is a much more considered and magnanimous response from my Labour MP:

I think there's a link on the page requesting that they add support if your battery isn't yet compatible.
I've had two events so far since I signed up last Saturday, and that works out at Β£3 per event (I've only got a 3kW inverter so can only export 3 an hour).
Nice to be supporting the grid!
