No basis for claim that 80% of biodiversity is found in Indigenous territories A much-cited statistic about how much of the world’s biodiversity is under Indigenous stewardship is unsupported — and could harm the cause it is meant to support.

Does anyone have the original paper that the "80% of words biodiversity is protected by Indigenous people" statement comes from? This is the paper that describes how that is wrong... I'm looking for the *original* paper that everyone was pulling the stat comes from.

Yurok Tribe Lays 11,500 Pounds of Native Plant Seeds Along Free-Flowing Klamath River The Yurok Trube recently hand-sowed 11,500 pounds of native plant seeds along the newly free-flowing Klamath River.

I love this historic #rewilding of the Klamath River, the largest dam removal in US history, in one of the most biodiverse areas in California. Returning stewardship to the Yurok restores tribal food sovereignty and better care for the river, land and wildlife.
