If you’re just getting started, I recommend installing the Bonofix theme for a nice Notion-like UI, and getting familiar with the query syntax so you can start building your own auto-updating pages and stuff

I don’t remember all the ins and outs of how it differs from Obsidian, but the fact that it’s open-source was what swung it for me in the end. I’ve yet to encounter any serious limitations and am discovering cool new functionality all the time
