I’m not convinced its deformation, clear scarring (dark mark) in the lower mandible tip consequently loss of the tomina. Some interesting reading on damaged bills eu.seacoastonline.com/story/news/l...

A magic moment all to myself, as the White Billed Diver popped up in front of my shore level vantage point over the Blyth Estuary this afternoon.

White-billed Diver - conveniently just down the road at Blyth Harbour today. Nearly three hours of distant viewing rewarded with a foray close to the pier and some nice colours from moored boats. Great to see @sudswatcher.bsky.social and @stewchat.bsky.social there too!
