Not only has MPD not intervened in cases where feds use unlawful force, today we learned MPD has submitted nothing to the county attorney related to crimes committed by federal agents.

This was _wild_ to hear from them, truly. And a few testifiers said this, which is really important: a 30 day pause gives bureaucracy (city, county, applications) the time to implement the 1 mil in rent assistance the city is allocating to the county.

I went and testified that although my primary motivation in supporting this extension is that it is morally correct, data shows it’s also fiscally responsible Bc homelessness costs the community far more. I’ve worked in supportive housing & I truly don’t understand how housing orgs are against this

Apparently Minnesota police officers are “afraid they might get arrested or something worse” if they intervene when ICE agents are doing crimes. Meanwhile they let thousands of unpaid, unarmed Minnesotans go ahead and intervene instead. Their cowardice is breathtaking

these bounty hunters reportedly picked someone up on the south side and took them to jail downtown, where this incident happened. i've heard they deployed less lethals outside of minneapolis city hall too

Imagine coming to city hall begging for more people to become homeless.

It’s wild that so called “affordable housing” providers were advocating for people to face eviction & have to sleep out on the street. Residents have already been subsidizing their nonprofits w/ millions in mutual aid for their tenants to pay their rents. Remember this next time they beg for money.

landlords have gotten off the easiest of anyone. targeted workers lost income staying home/working less. real business owners lost business if they felt safe to open at all. but tons of ordinary people are busting their asses to pay LLs bc gvt decided for THEM to take this hit is too much. WHY??!!!!
