That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this week's episode and Horizons continues to be so freaking good. 😌

Even Ceruledge, who is one of the closest I can think of in terms of personality (cool, serious, skilled fighters) has a character, like its caring and protective side that's been more prominent lately.

I don't need a fully fledged multi-dimensional character, but give me *something*!

I really hope they prove me wrong, though, but it's been a while and Lucario hasn't displayed any personality traits yet, other than being serious and good at fighting (very standard Lucario traits, which again, are very boring to me; I feel the same way about Ash's Lucario).

Until proven otherwise, that's how I feel about it. ^^; And that's fine! I still *really* enjoy the show because, luckily, Lucario isn't the main focus 99% of the time.

And all I've seen from fans is a very similar take to this, which again, is a fair opinion to have? As long as you're respectful?

Roy's Lucario is the only thing about Horizons that, to me at least, feels very corporate-driven. Lucario sells merch, a lot of the commercials that air during the break have Lucario and Mega Lucario in them, makes sense.

And all of Roy's Pokémon have yellow, so let's make it shiny for extra points

Made the mistake of looking at Twitter for a fraction of a second and all I saw was people complaining about Pokémon fans hating on Roy??

Who's hating on Roy?? I've never seen anyone hate on him. We just think his Lucario is extremely boring, which is a legitimate opinion to have. 😭
