Lombardi decries 'fake rumors,' 'fake stories,' attacks on UNC program - Michael Lombardi used his return to ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” to issue a strong defense of the North Carolina football program, criticizing what he described as persistent “fake rumors and fake stories” that circulated throughout Bill Belichick’s turbulent first season in Chapel Hill.

#UNC GM Michael Lombardi decried the attacks, “fake" rumors and stories” the program has dealt with. “If you’re not worth a darn, they’re not going to attack you,” he said on “The Pat McAfee Show,” adding that the recruiting class “lifted” the program.

#UNC slices Duke’s lead to three with an 18–8 run, and the Blue Devils, who led by as many as 12 points, hold a 39–34 halftime lead. Henri Veesaar leads UNC with nine points and Cameron Boozer has 12 for Duke.

UNC can’t find enough offense down stretch against Louisville - North Carolina battled Louisville well in the regular-season meeting before falling in overtime, but the Tar Heels didn’t have enough offensive firepower down the stretch on Saturday at the ACC tournament. The No. 12-ranked and No. 2-seed Cardinals took control in the second half and eased to a 65–57 victory at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Ga., for the Tar Heels’ third consecutive loss in the semifinals and second in as many seasons.

Without enough scoring down the stretch and little inside scoring punch, #UNC can’t overcome Louisville in the ACC tournament semifinals.

#UNC loses its third consecutive ACC tournament semifinal and second in as many seasons as Louisville takes a 65–57 victory behind 22 points and four 3-pointers from Imari Berry. Elina Aarnisalo led four Tar Heels to score in double figures with 17 points, and had a team-high four assists.

#UNC took a four-point lead early in the third quarter, but went without a field goal for the last 3:54 and trails Louisville 45–40 heading into the fourth quarter. Imari Berry has 16 points for Louisville and Elina Aarnisalo has 11 for UNC.

Roger Ayers, Clarence Armstrong and A.J. Desai are the referees for tonight's #UNC at Duke game.

UNC trailed by nine early in the second quarter, but Louisville only has a 28–27 lead at halftime. Imari Bery has 11 points for the Cardinals and Nyla Brooks leads #UNC with 8 points.
