We have Westlands Helicopters near us too: used to get Chinooks flying in / over - noisy buggers! - along with old Lynxs, Seakings, Merlins and Attack Helicopters being repaired, etc.

I'm nit an aviation nerd and this just came at me third hand, so forgive me if I used the wrong terms. Basically enormous planes are flying in, but we all have to pretend it's not happening.

Youngest daughter just told me her boyfriend (who's a bit of a plane / politics nerd) told her the Yanks were refuelling a transatlantic bomber at Yeovilton, but they were flying incognito into UK with transponders off / radar reflection on.

Oh, weird coincidence: we live a few miles away from Yeovilton naval base so are used to planes and helicopters going over all the time. Yesterday, something so huge / heavy flew over it basically made the entire town rattle. But heavy mist meant it was pretty much invisible...

I think the UK Gov likes to publicly show defiance to US regime as it's a vote winner, but kow-tows off-camera as they are in bed with US Big AI Tech (and Israel). But who knows.
