You should have to show you can play Civilization reasonably well to be eligible for president

Despite my (probably misguided) fond memories of the game, this is an excellent Ultima VIII: Pagan Retrospective. βš”οΈ Watch it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4h1...

When Frontier First Encounters launched in 1995, it was a DOS-only game in 320x200 resolution. Some 30 years later, we can all enjoy the same brilliant game in much greater detail, thanks to some enterprising and talented coders. Details of FFED3D are at tinyurl.com/FFED3D-AJ

Yeah so media titles don't have to make sense to be cool. Doom? Quake? Those are cool, but mean nothing in relation to the games. Sure, "Avoid the Awful Thing that Vaguely Resembles a Banana!!" is a great title as well, imo, but that's a rarity.

"Resident Evil" is a great title. Idk what everyone is smoking. Keep your "Biohazard" in a lab where it belongs.

Finally reading the book about the making of Fury Road, and got to the chapter where they're casting the iteration that actually got made. And peeps, we dodged some major bullets there. Eminem as Max, and Gal Gadot as Furiosa? Holy hell.

I don't like the terms "copypasta" and "creepypasta" because being a pasta enthusiast I get hungry when I read them. 🍝

Yes, but these are remakes made using original assets targeting modern mobile phones. What I was talking about is a contemporary 90s demo.

Sort of. Uspensky wanted to retain the rights to the Kolobki name, and Tatarsky & Kovalyov wanted to keep own their characters, so that's how they decided to settle it.

Pilot Brothers games are based on a Soviet animated series "Kolobki are on the Case" co-created by Igor Kovalyov. In 1991 Kovalyov joined Klasky Csupo where he became responsible for the visual style of "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters," among many other things.

I had no idea that "Pilot Brothers" (1997) had an official English language demo. No changes have been made to the voices, but all graphics and text are indeed in English. And you get 3 whole levels out of 15.

Yes, although ScummVM had support for non-adventure games for decades now. Mainly RPGs and such. But yeah, there's something about seeing it running a Tetris clone that feels a bit off.

Oh, the refrigerator puzzle in Pilot Brothers is giving you PTSD? Well, why then not try out a game of just THAT with "Flip - Flop" (1995)? πŸ˜‚

Turns out that in addition to the first two Pilot Brothers games ScummVM now also supports a handful of other games developed by Russian company "Gamos", ones that aren't adventures. Such as the Windows 9x port of WildSnake!
