I'm grateful for everything I've learned about working with horses over the past 3 years. I believe nothing else can teach you to communicate as effectively and honestly. Horses are innate BS detectors. If you want to lead a horse, you have to BE a leader. It's that simple and that complicated.

I saw a couple of foals born while I lived here. Makana and Hokulani arrived just a few days apart. They are half siblings, both sired by Navar. Sara and Belleza were quite proud of their babies. ❤️🐴

This guy. This is the horse I will miss the most. The pose is typical. He is a stallion with a big personality. He wants you to think he's a badass, but it's all an act. I was probably talking baby talk to him here. He doesn't want you to know how much he loves hugs. Don't tell anybody. 😂 ❤️🐴

I feel very fortunate and grateful to have had a pua'a as a best friend. Fiona is a very special pig. Such a character. Oh, she's absolutely dangerous AF, but that comes with the job description for a feral pig. Still, I have no doubt to that she likes me, and I will miss her terribly. ❤️🐗

When I move to Big Island from O'ahu in a couple of weeks, I will miss the animals I am leaving behind. (They aren't mine. I've just been caring for them.) I will very much miss Olive. I first met her as a newborn lamb. What sweetie. There's nothing quite like the feel of lamb breath on your hand.

My new favorite cheese is this Manchego cheese from Spain. It has a distinctive herringbone rind and is made from the milk of Manchego sheep. 'Ele'Ele approves. Well, probably not, but the cheese is excellent.
