also that first OP and ED combo is so fucking strong it's a shame (yet an interesting choice) that they didn't use both fully in every episode.

i dunno man. i kinda don't LOVE this show yet i'm gonna keep watching it because it's just so good to sit back and marvel at. it's Fun.

there are genuine moments of brilliance in here (Parent & Child is an all-timer episode, jesus christ man, especially with some context of stuff that comes later that adds even more depth to it) but unfortunately i do think it ends up falling into certain isekai pitfalls more than i'd like.

like realistically this show is probably a strong 7 to a mid 8 but it's just so watchable that it earns a tiny bit of extra credit in my brain, i think if there was less random offputting shit that kinda seems to conflict with what the main themes are, it might go up a bit more

i don't know that i love this show that much, i think its emotional beats can be really all over the place for me and they don't always land, but the symphogear-esque pacing certainly helps keep it entertaining as fuck to blast through lmao

the underground section of AI uplink is maybe the spookiest location in the entire game to me, it's just so Red that you're constantly on alert at any small sound

skulking around through some empty, dark lab and rounding a corner only to see a grenadier commander while you're kinda strapped for resources is an immediate "oh we need to leave, we cannot win this" which is really sick, that shit is almost as scary as a real person being here

i think the biggest trick up marathon's sleeve rn is that the UESC are kinda fucking terrifying
