I spent a lot of my time as a undergrad making fun of my professor for having weak ass powerpoint slides. I thought it was because they were just old.

But, now that I’m a PhD student, I get it. You spend so much of your brain power creating the argument you run out of steam for pretty slides

Technically, it’s the beginning of Negro History Week, which made way for Black History Month. But, I don’t think the technicality should stop us from celebrating 100 years of bringing Black History, culture and the fight of our ancestors to the forefront.

Further… lmao. I’ll be in my 80s when it’s time to celebrate the federal government signing it into law and those who pushed it.

Who knows if i’ll live that long lmao I’m celebrating them both today.

Maybe I could’ve said…we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the beginning of Negro History Week. But when have those words been uttered? Carter G. Woodson is always first to be credited with the month. He’s the father of Black History.

But sure words mean things. I guess.

I’m aware of the history and how the week is different from a month. I’m aware of how it transitioned and came. This is still a good time to celebrate the origins of Black History Month and Black History Week.
