Our new paper presents evidence that describing the same event with different content details results in shifts in hippocampal connectivity to different brain networks which in turn can predict later memory for the same elements of an encoded event.

Any other #misophonia researchers at #CNS2024? I’ve got a poster tomorrow (Saturday Apr 13) at 2:30pm (A67). Come stop by and say hi! 🧠📊 #neuroskyence

Schrödinger’s analysis:
When your graph looks good, but you haven’t run the stats yet, so it may or may not actually be significant… 🤞🏻
Every (neuro)biologist should read this indeed, so I'll put it here to save you the clicks.

👩💻You'll find all the details of how we chose, annotated, and segmented these sounds in the paper (tinyurl.com/FOAMS2023) and on the corresponding Zenodo repositories (zenodo.org/communities/miso-sound), as well as pilot ratings on a subset of the sounds, too.

🔊FOAMS (currently) contains 50 sound files -- 5 exemplars each of 10 categories:
breathing
chewing gum
clearing throat
crumpling plastic
cutting food
dribbling basketball
dripping water
flipping newspaper
swallowing
typing
(Neutral sounds to come!)
🆕➡️ ICYMI on Twitter, collaborators and I have recently introduced ✨FOAMS: Free Open Access Misophonia Stimuli✨, a solution to the barriers of incorporating misophonic trigger sounds in experimental research!
All made possible by funding from soQuiet.org🙏🏻
