04.03.2026 13:49 โ ๐ 10 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Iโm amazed the Kurds will have anything to do with western powers any more after being abandoned by the coalition and US in particular in Iraq.
03.03.2026 21:37 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yes all academic book and journal prices are terrible because of the limited audience, but there are some you just have to have. Good that you and the label get a mention though.
03.03.2026 20:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It needs to be more affordable to get to a wider audience, terrible price at the moment without a discount
03.03.2026 20:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Ahh, thatโs a shame they cut it ๐ Yes, would be interested in a read ๐

03.03.2026 18:19 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thatโs great. Itโs quite an approachable read for an academic book and full of interesting views and nuggets of info. Crucially, itโs bang up to date with mentions of lots of current artists and labels involved in the scene. Hope you enjoy it and get a good discount ๐
03.03.2026 18:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Looking forward to a read of this book which explores the 21st century hauntology music scene and particularly music inspired by landscape and cultural heritage. Expensive but thanks to @moonbuilding.bsky.social newsletter review you get a ยฃ32 discount. PDF version also expensive.

#MythologyMonday
March is National Reading Month in the U.S. - as good a reason as any to share my suggestions for which of the many versions of The Mabinogion you should read!
Brief, it depends what you're looking for.

01.03.2026 20:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The medieval and post medieval stone roof tile quarries on the west side of Corndon Hill, Powys. The lidar data shows the extent of working quite nicely and the earthworks of the quarry pits are well preserved and accessible on footpaths.

28.02.2026 18:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0White Grit lead mine pumping engine house. Originally it housed a 1783 Boulton & Watt engine. This was upgraded with a larger beam engine in the 1840s.

28.02.2026 17:31 โ ๐ 27 ๐ 6 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Managed to find the unusual X-shaped medieval artificial rabbit warren (often called pillow mounds because of shape) on Middleton Hill near Corndon. Easily missed and best found with lidar.
28.02.2026 17:14 โ ๐ 58 ๐ 11 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0Mitchellโs Fold Stone Circle is great if you catch it when itโs quiet up there. The Hoarstones stone circle is less visited to the north. Loads of cairns on Corndon with fab views. Well worth a visit ๐
28.02.2026 17:09 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Itโs been over a decade since we walked around Corndon Hill and Stapeley Hill so I revisited in the sunshine on a 12km circular. Fabulous prehistoric landscape here with stone circles, cairns, standing stones (largely fallen) and barrows #archaeology #prehistoric

25.02.2026 14:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0The mines at Allt y Crib look particularly early. I went down them in the 90s and they display classic early opencast work at the surface expanding into deeper workings with early tooling below. Quite a dangerous place underground though. We passed a possible stone hammer onto David Jenkins.
